About Helping Hams

Helping Hams is a free media library — video, audio, and books — built entirely on work that artists have chosen to donate. There's no paywall and no subscription: anyone can browse and enjoy the catalog at no cost.

What makes the model work is that the site's revenue doesn't stay with Helping Hams. 100% of what the site generates is donated to a vetted charity partner. We're keeping the specific charity partner generic for now while the site is still getting off the ground, and we'll share exactly who that is as soon as that partnership is finalized.

Why donated work?

Every piece of media on this site is here because an artist decided to give it away, in support of the cause. That's also why creator credit matters so much to us — every title in the catalog names the people who made it, because their generosity is the reason any of this exists in the first place.

For artists

If you're a filmmaker, musician, author, or other creator and you're interested in donating a piece of your work, we'd love to hear from you.
